Evelyn Carlton
<p> </p> <p><strong>Evelyn Mullinax Carlton</strong>, 91, of Blacksburg, SC, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, June 19th, 2022, at her residence. Born August 3, 1930, to the late Lifers Walker Mullinax and Bessie Griffin Mullinax in Gaffney, SC, she was the wife of the late Flake H. Carlton.</p> <p>Mrs. Carlton was a member of Broad River Baptist Church, Blacksburg, SC and volunteered at Iron City Ministries after retiring from Magnolia Finishing Plant. She loved to sew, cook for her large family, read books, and study The Bible.</p> <p>Left to cherish her memory are Son, Michael Carlton (Christy Wyatt) of Blacksburg, SC; Daughter, Cheryl Moss (Steve) of Blacksburg, SC; Daughter, Patti Merck (Garvin) of Inman, SC; Son, Steve F. Carlton of Gaffney, SC; and Daughter, Lisa Ray of Blacksburg, SC. 11 Grand Children, 27 Great-Grand Children, 2 Great-Great Grandchildren, and a Special Friend of the Family Terry Carlton.</p> <p>In addition to her Parents and Husband, she was preceded in death by her Son, John Carlton; Son in Law, Danny Ray; Grand Children Noah Martin and Angela Marie Ray; Brothers, Robert Mullinax, Vernon Mullinax; Sisters, Jeanette Ruppe, Louise Moss, and Mary "Tennie" Perry.</p> <p>Receiving of Friends and Family will be held Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at Broad River Baptist Church, 419 W. Cherokee St from 2:00-3:00 PM with a Celebration of Life Service to follow in the Sanctuary with Rev. Norman Philbeck officiating. Internment will be held in Mountain View Cemetery, Blacksburg, SC. At other times the family will be at the residence, 414 S. Chester St. Blacksburg, SC 29702.</p> <p>The family requests memorials be made, in lieu of flowers, to the Backpack Buddies Ministry c/o Broad River Baptist Church, 419 W.
