Lorraine Verley Obituary

Lorraine Verley of Dauphin and formerly of Laurier, MB passed away on Friday, June 17, 2022 with her family at her side at the McCreary Alonsa Health Centre at the age of 94 years.  

Lorraine leaves to mourn her passing and cherish many fond memories; her husband Gordon Bernardin, her daughter Adele (Daniel Menec), her grandchildren Jonathan, Allison (Laurent Chapdelaine), Danielle (Manny Santiago), Brant and her great grandchildren Wyatt and Gabrielle Chapdelaine. She is survived by her sisters Gayle, Denise and Delores and her brothers John and Daniel, many nieces and nephews and Gordon's children Ron, Gerald (Marie), Emile (Judy), Romeo (Gail), Paul (Glenn) and Maurice (Verna).  

Lorraine was predeceased by her parents Eugene and Donalda Neault (nee Jeannotte), her 1st husband Jean Verley, her son Daniel, her brother and sisters and their spouses Lucien (Evelyn), Trudy, Yvette (Ernest), Cecile (Bill) and Rita (Jerry).  

Mom attended school in Ste. Rose and later took an LPN course where she worked with Dr. Gendreau in the OR, then as a lab technician.  She later worked in the pharmacy and the nursery in Dauphin and ended her career at the personal care home in Ste. Rose.  

Lorraine spent many years singing and leading the choir at the church in Laurier.  She enjoyed many different hobbies, but her favorite was quilting.  She won many 1st prizes for her quilting as far away as BC.  

A funeral mass in celebration of Lorraine's life will be celebrated on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at 2:00 pm from Notre Dame des Victoires Roman Catholic Church, Laurier.  The rosary will be recited at 1:30 pm.  Interment will take place at a later date in the Laurier RC Parish Cemetery.  

A special thank you to all of the residents of Mountain View Villa.  You were all very special to her and she missed you dearly when she moved to McCreary.  

Thank you to the doctor and staff at the McCreary Personal Care Home.  You were kind, considerate and thoughtful and made Mom's last months more peaceful.  To all who visited Mom, thank you!
