Debra Grace Obituary

It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of a beautiful soul, Debbie Grace at the age of 67.

A loved mother, grandma, Aunt and friend. A woman who always put others first and loved with all her heart. Pre deceased by her parents Rhona and George, sister Linda and brother Rod. Survived by her brother Alvin (Denise), her sons Daniel (Kristin), David (Alysha ) and Paul (Alicia ) her daughter Rebecca (Dallas) and her many grand babies.

She loved her animals and was often seen riding her horse through Oakbank at a young age. Throughout her life she had many animals big and small; ducks, rabbit, cats, goats and her big St. Bernard Sissy…. It was never enough. Even in her last days she would take her beloved boarder collie Ruby for a run. She was a good trainer.

Her love didn’t end at animals. She decided to take the brave step and return to school as a mature student while raising four little kids. She finished with excellence and made a life long impact on people through psychiatric nursing and working with children and youth with anxiety disorders. Mom always showed love to others, delivering homemade buns to the widows on Christmas Eve, checking in on people who are otherwise alone and encouraging friends, family and strangers of all walks of life.

Mom was a humble woman, she didn’t need much and was always sure she pulled her own weight. She showed kindness to others through words and actions even when she didn’t feel well. Truly taking Jesus’ teaching of loving others to heart. She did it well, she did it naturally and she did it often.

She loved her God and taught us how to be thankful for all the blessings He’s given us.

Moms love for her family was the biggest. With four children (spouses) and 17 grandchildren she was never short of someone to encourage or sing praises about to her friends. Although there was distance with some, it was only in cities not in heart or thought. Mom poured out even more energy to develop and nurture those relationships. She made everyone feel special. Learning of their interests, making love pillows and having regular talk and text sessions. Even during the pandemic she used that time to grow closer to those she loved and always remained thankful. Learning of her passing, countless people reached out to share about the kind acts she said and did for them in her last days.

It’s fair to say, horse people are stable people! She will be greatly missed. Til we meet again, see you later alligator!

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to her great nephew Otto Elke whose diagnosed with cerebral palsy and epilepsy. Contact Nicole 204-340-6621.
