Nathan Dee Johnson passed peacefully in Republic, Missouri, on June 16, 2022, with family by his side. Nathan was born on June 1, 1939, in Bois D’Arc, Missouri, to Ralph and Hilda (Potter) Johnson. He married his beloved Vera (Hake) in September of 1966; they built memories together for 55 years. He graduated from Bois D’Arc High School and afterwards went to work for General Electric. Nathan loved his family, his dogs, and a good John Wayne movie. He could also be found reading, watching movies and Dodger baseball, traveling, and spending time with his pets. Nathan proudly served his country in the United States Air Force in the Air Force Strategic Air Command. Nathan is preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, and beloved dog, Soloman. He is survived by his wife, Vera; daughters: Angie and Tammy: his loyal dog, Freddie; two grand-dogs: Gibbs and Rip; and a host of cousins. A memorial visitation will be held at Walnut Lawn Funeral Home on Monday, June 27, 2022, 10:30 AM - 12:15 PM. A final salute will be held at 12:15 PM. Following visitation and the final salute, Nathan will be laid to rest at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield, Missouri, where full military honors will be rendered at 1:00 PM.
