Joyce Vaags

On the morning of Saturday, June 11, 2022, in her home, with characteristic tenacity, Joyce Vaags (nee Kollinger) went to be with her Heavenly Father. <br><br>Joyce was predeceased by her husband of 44 years, Harry, her granddaughter, Isabel, and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.<br><br>Celebrating her memory are her children and grandchildren, Linda and Ron Schreuders (Rachel and Erik, Todd and Jessica), Tracy and Chris Bouwman (Bethany, Kaiden and Kim, Cameron, Riley), Maureen Vaags-Nyhof and Paul Nyhof (Reid, Reagan, Callen), Duane and Rita Vaags (Melina and Jared, Anika, Ethan, Sivana, Avalyn), Rhea Vaags-Olafson and Kris Olafson (Braedyn, Ryan, Makenna, Addison), and her brothers Karl (Marlene), Jack (Nancy), Adolf (Gillian), sisters-in-law Sarah, Bertha, Audrey. <br><br>Mom will be remembered for her dedication and self-sacrifice in raising her children, her pride and joy in them and her grandchildren, her immeasurable dedication to dad, especially after his stroke, her unwavering faith, and her skill and talent in creating memories for those she loved through cross-stitching, knitting, sewing, and quilting. She spent many happy hours doing puzzles and reading. <br><br>The family would like to thank Dr. Elissa Abrams, Dr. Alex Singer, Dr. Chrystyna Kalicinsky, Dr. Martha Ainslie, Dr. Patrick Griffin, Laura Klammer and Dr. Donna Puff for going above and beyond in the care and thoughtfulness they provided. Mom wanted to ensure that we passed on her heartfelt gratitude and appreciation for the exemplary care she received during the later years of her life.<br><br>A celebration of Mom’s life will be held on Thursday, June 16th, at 2:00 p.m. at Transcona Christian Reformed Church, 131 Victoria Ave W. There will be a private interment. For those that wish to join virtually may do so by using the WORSHIP LIVESTREAM link on the Transcona Christian Reformed Church website. Joyce was predeceased by her husband of 44 years, Harry, her granddaughter, Isabel, and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
