David "Hootie" Lee Nadler was born October 17, 1951 in Washington, MO; son of the late Walter Nadler and wife Edna (nee` Mallinkrodt). He passed away Tuesday, June 07, 2022 at the age of 70 years. David received his education at Christ Lutheran Church Grade School in Augusta, MO and graduated from Washington High School - Class of 1969 in Washington, MO. He was united in marriage to Brenda Griffin February 25, 1978 at the Nazarene Church in Union, MO. The couple made their home in Washington, MO before making their permanent residence in Augusta, MO. Their marriage was blessed with 2 children Joshua and Kimberlee. David had a long successful career as a Concrete Finisher working for the Cement Mason Union Local 527 and retired from there in 2007. He also farmed the family farm in Augusta with his brother Royce. During his childhood years, he attended and was confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church in Augusta, MO and later became a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Washington, MO. He was a member of a few organizations including the Hummingbird Club and the VFW Post 2661 both in Washington, MO. In his spare time, he loved fishing, hunting, farming, and spending time with his friends at the river. One of his true passions was wine making. He entered his wine every year and won many First Place Plaques and Best of Show awards with his buddy John. What David cherished most was spending time with his wife Brenda of 44 years, his children Joshua and Kimberlee, and grandchildren Logan, Kaylee, Hannah, and Oliver. He will be deeply missed.
He was preceded in death by one son, Joshua Marvel; his parents, Walter and Edna Nadler; in-laws, Charles and June Griffin; one brother, Royce Nadler; two brothers-in-law: Charles Griffin Jr. and Bill Kinkeade; two sisters-in-law: Vicki Glass and Jan Nadler.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Nadler (nee Griffin") of Augusta, MO; one daughter, Kim Heining and husband Eric of Augusta, MO; one daughter-in-law, Kara Marvel of Augusta, MO; four grandchildren: Logan Marvel, Kaylee Heining, Hannah Heining and Oliver Heining; one sister, Joyce George and husband Larry of TX; one Godson, Ryan Nadler and wife Kelly of Washington, MO; five sisters-in-law: Suzanne Griffin of Union, MO, Pam Kinkeade and s/o Ronnie Weber of Bay, MO, Pearl Davis and husband Scott of Union, MO, Tina Griffin and s/o Ted Bandy of Beaufort, MO, Shar Nadler of Washington, MO; one brother-in-law Bruce Glass of New Haven, MO; nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation for David Nadler will be held Tuesday, June 14, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Oltmann Funeral Home in Washington, MO.
Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Washington, MO. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
