She leaves her three precious children, Colin, Ashlynn and Madison Cavanaugh and her husband Shane Cavanaugh, all of Nottingham, NH; her mother Kathleen Zirpola and her fiancé Michael Janowski of Salem, NH; her sister Danielle Zirpola of Derry, NH; her maternal grandparents Rod and Marge Bailey of Vero Beach, FL; her father John Zirpola of Charleston, SC. She was predeceased by her paternal grandparents, Nina and Joseph Zirpola. She also leaves her aunts, uncles, nieces and nephew, cousins, including her dearest cousin Jennifer Colognesi of Sturbridge, MA; father-in-law, Paul Cavanaugh, mother-in-law, Christine Cavanaugh, sister-in-law, Meaghan Cavanaugh, sister-in-law, Keri Cavanaugh, brother-in-law, Kiel Bisson, 2 nieces, Gracie Cavanaugh and Alissa Bisson, 1 nephew, Seth Bisson, countless friends, including her closest friends Brian Twomey of Seminole, FL; Dale Gorman of Dennis, MA; her children’s caregivers who became like family, Stacy Tennis of Nottingham, NH and Julia Capello of Nottingham, NH and her two beloved dogs Tobey and Jimmy. Nicki was born on June 19, 1984 in Framingham, MA. She graduated from Pembroke Academy in Pembroke, NH and went on to graduate from the University of New Hampshire at Manchester in NH in 2011. She excelled as a student and brought her strong work ethic to each of her jobs, starting work at Jack McNulty Associates, then MINI of Peabody, where she made several life-long friends, and most recently for the last ten years as a Senior Business Analyst at Liberty Mutual. She was loved and greatly respected by her co-workers, many of which became treasured friends. It’s impossible to describe such an incredible soul in a few short paragraphs. Nicki was a firecracker. Nicki had a heart of gold. She was giving, kind, compassionate and loved with her entire being. Even when her life was hectic, she would drop everything for anyone that needed her. She insisted on feeding everyone that walked into her spotless home. She put so much thought, love and care into all she did for others. To know her was to understand how fiercely she loved and it was impossible not to love her back. Nicki was a loving daughter, sister, wife, and mother. The love Nicki shared for Def Leppard and Guns N’ Roses with her mother was unmatched. If you were in her home at any point, you were bound to hear the song Sweet Child O’ Mine blaring on a daily basis. She enjoyed attending many concerts with her sister and mom. Together she and her mother planned the most spectacular Pinterest-worthy parties with thoughtful love going into every detail. Her mother was truly one of her best friends. She often enjoyed poking fun at her sister Danielle, who she affectionately dubbed, D’Mack. Danielle was Nicki’s sidekick throughout childhood and life. And if there ever was an unflattering photo of Danielle, Nicki took immense joy in sharing it for all the world to see. They engaged in many shenanigans over the years and shared countless inside jokes. She was an avid Bruins fan and spent many days at Boston Garden or watching the B’s games at home with family. Her love for the Bruins was magnified when she met her husband, Shane. In fact, he fittingly proposed in front of the Bobby Orr statue. Together they enjoyed many adventures together including going to concerts, family days on the lake and attending the Annual Fishing Derby in Nottingham. Over the years they hosted so many friends that became like family at their home. Most importantly, they welcomed three beautiful children into their lives. There was truly no greater joy in her life than her children, Colin, Ashylnn and Madison. The day she became a mom, her world changed forever in the most beautiful way. She showered Colin (who she affectionately called C, or Col), Ashlynn (Lynnie-Lou) and Madison (Mads) with all the love in her heart. She was passionate about making their days magical, including elaborate parties, trips to Disney, the most perfect outfits, dance classes, T-ball, creating fairy gardens and baking together just to name a few. Every holiday with the kids was her favorite. She left heart post-it notes on their doors for Valentine’s Day, listing something she loved about them each day. The Easter bunny left sugar footprints all over the house (which if you knew Nicki, she then spent hours cleaning up). And her most favorite holiday of all, Christmas always included the absolute biggest Christmas tree she could jam pack in the house, an annual ornament for everyone each year and a month of specially planned activities to revel with the kids in the pure enchantment of the season. On their birthday each child always woke up to a living room filled with balloons that she would painstakingly blow up the night before, a custom cake and outfit, all to match a magical theme she dreamed up for that year. Nicki’s children were lovingly cared for by nannies Stacy and then Julia. They both quickly became her close friends and confidants. Together they had many adventures with the kids and shared in all of life’s sadness and joy. To quote Winnie the Pooh, “The most important thing is, even when we’re apart … I’ll always be with you …” Nicki cherished her friendships with so many and she possessed the true gift in making each person feel as if they were the most important in her life. She left an indelible mark on all who knew her and will be incredibly missed forever.
