Robert Verraster died at his home in Brewster, New York on May 4, 2022.
Robert was born and grew up in Waterbury, Connecticut he was predeceased by his wife Shirley Verraster, his parents, James V. Verraster Jr. and Helen Reardon Verraster, as well as his maternal and paternal grandparents.
After graduating from Naugatuck High School, he began an active career in plant security starting at Handy and Harman of Fairfield, Connecticut in the 1980s. He shifted gears in the late 1990s when he and Shirley moved to Florida, and he entered the auto parts business reaching the level of foreign and domestic parts specialist and Regional Manager for two national retail chains.
While in Florida he was a primary caregiver for his mother, Helen, until her passing in July of 2013. Rob returned to the Northeast shortly before retiring in 2015. He was a dedicated and faithful member of the Knights of Columbus attaining the level of a Third Degree Knight. In his later years he pursued a lifelong passion - learning to play the guitar without professional instruction.
He was a true friend to animals and was very fond of his dogs, Lou and Sammy.
Rob loved his family and is survived by his sister, Linda Verraster of San Clemente, CA and his brother James V. Verraster III and his wife Lynn (Nocera) Verraster of Naples, Florida; his nieces Lindsay, Jillian, and Agiana Verraster as well as many loving cousins on both the Verraster and Reardon sides and his Aunt Rebecca Reardon all of whom remain in the Waterbury, Connecticut area.
Rob loved his family and was proud to be an American and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him
