Jason Andrew Denney Obituary

Jason Andrew Denney left this world for the next on Thursday, June 2, 2022. He was born on September

19, 1973, to Sid and Cathleen Denney in Guymon, Ok. Jason attended school in Guymon, OK and

Clinton, OK where he excelled academically and athletically. He earned a scholarship to Northeastern

Oklahoma State University where he received his Bachelor of Science in Heath and Human Performance.

For many years, Jason worked in retail management. His professional drive, sense of humor and

charisma made him a favorite of senior management, coworkers, and customers alike.

Throughout his life, Jason was known to always be ready with a smile, words of encouragement or a

corny joke. He treated everyone he met as if they had been lifelong friends. Jason was grateful to God

for blessing him with the stubbornness that enabled him to recover from a stroke that many believed

would leave him paralyzed. He would often tell people of his triumph, especially to those who might be

frustrated with their own battles. It was that fortitude and love for life helped him recover from that

stroke and survive the many trials that followed. Jason had love in his heart for all people, but loved no

one more than his son, Connor. They were best friends and inseparable. When Jason spoke of Connor,

he lit up with a pride known to few people. He would often say that their bond was unbreakable. His

son was his entire world. Oklahoma Sooner football was a distant second. He and Connor attended

many Sooner football games and were likely the loudest pair of fans in the stadium.

Even though Jason is no longer with us, please be assured that he is planning plenty of practical jokes

and bear hugs for when we are all reunited in the afterlife. Jason is survived by his best friend and son,

Connor Denney, his brother, Aaron Denney and many friends and extended family.

At this time, a celebration of life has not been scheduled but may be planned for the future. In lieu of

flowers, Connor asks that a donation be made to the non-profit organization of your choice.
