Judy C. Nalepovich Angell Stratford, Connecticut Obituary

Judy C. Nalepovich Angell

Judy C Nalepovich Angell passed the veil of this world on June 2, 2022 at Bridgeport/Yale New Haven Hospital due to natural causes. She was born August 12, 1941 in Bridgeport, CT to Joseph Nalepovich and Myrtle Snelgrove. After graduation from Harding High School in Bridgeport, she was briefly married to a Vietnam era US Army veteran who died in a car crash. She then returned to the Bridgeport area, where she worked as a secretary at Avco Lycoming Aircraft. This is where she met the love of her life, Trygve Robert Angell, where he was a salesman. They married on 12/20/1969 at United Congregational Church of Bridgeport and enjoyed 50 years of great joy in marriage. Judy graduated from Sacred Heart University with an associates degree in English. She later worked as a secretary in the data processing department of Bridgeport Hospital, where she also lovingly served as a volunteer 'hugger' in the newborn ICU. She was a founding member and past President of the Nichols Garden Club. She was awarded a Humanitarian Award by the town of Trumbull CT in recognition of her long service to various non-profit organizations such as the Trumbull Land Trust, Trumbull Historical Society, Nichols Improvement Association and Bridgeport Hospital. Judy was a fierce defender of wildlife and her home in Trumbull was recognized as a "Backyard Wildlife Habitat" by the National Wildlife Federation. Judy was also active at First Congregational Church of Stratford, serving in the Diaconate and the Board of Benevolence. She created and donated a nativity set that was in use at the church for over 45 years. Judy was predeceased by her beloved husband Trygve, who died 5/10/2020 of covid. Due to covid pandemic protocols, the family was unable to hold a timely public funeral for Trygve. It was therefore Judy's final wish to have a joint remembrance ceremony for them both at the time of her passing. She is survived by daughter and son-in-law Cynthia and Michael O'Ravitz of Wallingford CT, daughter and son-in-law Deborah A Gedney and Jeffrey H Gedney of Trumbull, CT, granddaughters Monica O'Ravitz and Rebecca O'Ravitz, both of Wallingford CT, grandsons Robert Gedney of Keene NH and Patrick Gedney of North Haven, CT. A Memorial Service for Judy and Trygve Angell will take place at the First Congregational Church of Stratford, 2301 Main Street, Stratford, Connecticut, at 1:00 PM on Saturday June 11, 2022. Refreshements will follow the service in the Lower Packard Hall. To express condolences online, visit www.pisteyfuneralhome.com. In Lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Stratford Cat Project, the Audubon Society of Connecticut or the First Congregational Church of Stratford. Donation information can be found at stratfordcatproject.org, www.ctaudubon.org, and www.Firstchurchstratford.org.
