<p>Carole J. Helbig (James), 79, of West Lawn, passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2022, at Country Meadows, Wyomissing. Carole was the cherished wife of Karl J. Helbig for 41 years. Born in Johnstown, PA, Carole was the daughter of the late, Elmer David James, and Grace James Geist.&nbsp;</p> <p>A loving mother, and wife, Carole was a remarkable cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends, most especially over the holidays, Carole had a passion for interior design and seemed to always have the perfect spot to place a trinket/artwork and many times would rearrange furniture on a whim. Carole wanted to make her home the perfect spot for family gatherings and for friends to visit. For most her life, Carole had a strong connection with animals and shared many years with her cats, Puss, Jitters, and Lizzie. More recently, she loved visiting with and hearing stories of her various grand-dogs, and grand-cats.&nbsp;</p> <p>In addition to her husband Karl, Carole is survived by her sons, Jim Sillhart, husband of Cindy, of Devon, PA, Steve Sillhart, husband of Ginger, of Wyomissing and her 4 grandchildren, David, Ryan, Molly, and John.&nbsp;</p> <p>Carole is predeceased by her parents, and her brother, David S. James.&nbsp;</p> <p>Funeral service will be held in Bean Funeral Homes, 3825 Penn Ave. Sinking Spring, on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at 11:00 AM, Pastor Mike Snedeker to officiate. Interment will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and guests in Bean Funeral Home, Sinking Spring, on Wednesday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Carole&rsquo;s honor to the Animal Rescue League of Berks, 58 Kennel Road, Birdsboro, PA 19508.
