Catherine Reiss McDonagh of Scottsdale, AZ passed away suddenly at home on May 29, 2022. Cathie was born May 15, 1946 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. The youngest of five children born to John and Ruth Reiss. She graduated from North High School in 1964 and received a BA in Psychology from the University of San Francisco in 1968.  She married her love, Thomas McDonagh on March, 21, 1970 and together they raised their four children. Cathie was a devoted Kindergarten and First grade teacher for 38 years. Her positive, enthusiastic and creative approach to teaching impacted so many lives and made her a favorite not only to her students, but their parents as well. Her dedication to creating a positive and loving learning environment for her students was her passion.  

She is survived by her husband Tom and three children: Tom McDonagh, Molly Fobes (Shane) Joe McDonagh (Kyda) and eight grandchildren Cade, Kelsey, McKenna, Kiley, Reagan, Vivian, Lyla, and Beck. Her siblings, Peter Reiss and Ruth Kosednar. She is preceded in death by her son John, daughter in-law Robynne, brother John Reiss and her sister Mary Klauck.  

Cathie enjoyed being a mother and grandmother so much. Her life was guided by her strong Catholic faith and her love and dedication to her family, as she was a selfless and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be missed dearly. A memorial service will be held on June 14 at 10:30am at Blessed Sacrament Church.
