James Ronald “Ronnie” Walker<br><br>James Ronald “Ronnie” Walker, 74 of Jacksonville, died Thursday June 2, 2022. Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, James Wimbric Walker and Hilda White Walker, and a step-daughter Dichelle McDuffie. <br>James Ronald Walker, affectionately called Ronnie, was born June 28, 1947. He was a graduate of Georgia Southwestern University and a member of the McRae First United Methodist Church. Mr. Walker served as a Georgia State Senator for District 19 for 8 years (1976-1984). He was also the Sheriff of Telfair County for 8 years and was the President of his class of his Sheriff-Elect Academy.<br>Mr. Walker is survived by his wife, Dianne Marchant Walker of Jacksonville; Children; Ron (Lisa) Walker and Mandy (Heath) Holloway both of Chauncey; Step-Children, Jay (Irma) McDuffie of Hawkinsville and Emily (Eddie Pope of Eastman. Grandchildren; Jacob Holloway, Lauren Walker, Haley Holloway and Chase Walker. Step-Grandchildren; Joseph McDuffie and Elissa Pope; Sister Jennifer (Trevor) Singleton and brother Craig (Pam) Walker both of McRae. Several nieces and nephews also survive.<br>A graveside funeral service will be held at 11 A.M.
