Roger D. Meunier

<p>Wolfeboro, NH&nbsp;</p> <p>Roger D. Meunier passed away on Wednesday May 18, 2022 at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital. Roger was born in Sanford, ME on July 25, 1931 to the late Thomas A. and Germain R. (Beland) Meunier. Roger attended Sanford High School, graduating in 1950. Roger enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1951. Following basic training at Sampson Air Force Base in Seneca, NY, Roger was selected to attend Air Traffic Controller School in Biloxi, MS. Upon graduation, he was assigned to Brize Norton Air Force Base in Carterton, England. He was honorably discharged in 1954.&nbsp;</p> <p>Roger was employed as an Air Traffic Controller with the Federal Aviation Administration, serving in Portland, ME, Burlington, VT, and Morristown, NJ. He retired in 1981 and moved to Wolfeboro, NH where he pursued his many hobbies of woodworking, photography, gardening, travel, and antique cars. Roger restored a 1931 Model A Ford pick-up truck and was a member of the Lakes Region Model A Ford Club in Melvin Village.&nbsp;</p> <p>Roger married his high school sweetheart, Doris (Dot) Roy on September 6, 1952 while serving in England. Doris flew to England following her high school graduation and 18th birthday. They were married at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Carterton, Oxfordshire, England.&nbsp;</p> <p>Roger was eternally grateful to his son Richard for donating a kidney in September of 2006. This gift of life enabled Roger to enjoy many more years of productive life with family and friends.&nbsp;</p> <p>Roger is survived by his devoted wife of 69 years Doris, son Kenneth and his wife Linda of Venice, FL, Richard of Canton, OH, twins Susan of Watertown, CT and Timothy of Jackson, MI, and James of Sandyston, NJ. He had 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Roger is also survived by sisters Eileen Moreau of Vestavia Hills, AL, Margaret and husband James L. Sanford of Athens, GA, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Thomas.&nbsp;</p> <p>Roger was a communicant of St. Katherine Drexel Roman Catholic Church of Alton, NH.&nbsp;</p> <p>A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 7th, 2022, 10:00am at St. Katharine Drexel Church, Alton, NH.&nbsp; A Burial will be held at 3:00pm at the New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, NH.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
