Don Pichette

It is with broken hearts and great sadness that the family of Don Joseph Pichette announce his sudden passing after a short but courageous battle with liver cancer. He passed away at the Timmins District hospital on May 24th, 2022, at the age of 75.<br><br>Don is survived by his loving wife and best friend Linda Pichette (Cotnam) of 52 years. Don and Linda were married in Timmins on August 30th, 1969, and she was the love of his life. He is also survived by his loving children Chad (Cindy) Pichette of Sudbury and Leah (Jean) Ouellette of Timmins. Along with his adoring grandchildren; Ashley (John), Kate, Carley, Carter, Hudson, and his beautiful great granddaughters; Alice and Marceline. Also fondly remembered by Tina Pichette (mother to Ashley, Kate, and Carter).<br><br>Don is lovingly remembered by his siblings; Jackie Pichette, Rick (Lise) Pichette, Nicole (Norm) Cadeau, Stephane Pichette, and Mike (Natalie) Pichette. His brother in-laws; Roger (Denise) Levesque, Rolly Pelchat, and Roma Ouellette. He is also survived by his mother in-law Martha Cotnam. Brother in-law; Gord (Kathy) Cotnam and sister in-law; Kathy (Frank) Chalmers.<br><br>Don will be greatly missed by his nieces and nephews, his coffee buddies, and many great friends.<br><br>Don is predeceased by his parents; George and Bertha Pichette, his father in-law; Lloyd Cotnam, and his sisters; Huguette Levesque, Suzanne Pelchat, and Paulette Ouellette. <br><br>Don joined the Timmins Fire Dept on April 1st, 1974, at the age of 28 and retired on June 10th, 2006. Being a fireman was his true calling in life. He enjoyed the comradeship, the adrenaline rush, and always helping people in need. He often commented he had THE BEST JOB EVER! Even after retirement and up until his death, dad listened faithfully to his fire department scanner, often jokingly saying “maybe I should go, they might need my help”. Dad truly loved his family and was so proud of all of us, his grandchildren were his pride and joy making phone calls and visits every day.<br><br>We invite you to join us, for visitation at LESSARD-STEPHENS Funeral Home. 21 Elm St South, Timmins, ON. On Sunday, May 29th, 2022, at 2:00pm-4:00pm and 7:00pm-9:00pm.<br><br>The funeral service will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on 567 Eyre Blvd, Timmins, ON. On Monday, May 30th, 2022, at 1:00pm, with Father Simon Drapeau officiating. <br><br>In lieu of flowers, remembrance donations may be made to the Timmins and District Hospital Foundation/Hospice ; where he received exceptional care and comfort during his stay. <br><br><br><br>

Don is survived by his loving wife and best friend Linda Pichette (Cotnam) of 52 years. Don and Linda were married in Timmins on August 30th, 1969, and she was the love of his life. The funeral service will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on 567 Eyre Blvd, Timmins, ON. On Monday, May 30th, 2022, at 1:00pm, with Father Simon Drapeau officiating.
