William "Bill" Randall Shawver

WILLIAM RANDALL SHAWVER 1942-2022 Bill Shawver passed away on May 22, 2022, with family at his side. He was born in Portland, Oregon, on November 3,1942 to Kenneth and Marietta (Barnhart) Shawver. He spent his childhood in Portland Oregon and attended Portland Public Schools. He served in the US Army. He married Kathleen McCabe on June 6,1964 in Portland, she survives at the family home in Redmond Oregon. Together they had 3 children. Bill began his law enforcement career as a volunteer reserve deputy with the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office. He was hired as a full-time Police Officer with the Newport Police Department in 1976. With the Newport Police Department, he served as a Patrol Officer, Detective, and Sergeant prior to his retirement in 1998. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen, his daughters: Kristine Teem and Theresa (Mel) Driscoll, his son: Patrick (Amy) Shawver,7 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson, brothers: Ken (Dory), Rich (Thedra) and Bob (Mary), sisters: Kay (Bob) Torchia and Patti (John) Umback, numerous nieces and nephews, and many dear friends. There will be no service (as requested by the deceased), but, there will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.
