Sara Marie Storey McCaughan, age 77, resident of Brandon, MS passed away Monday, May 23, 2022, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, MS. Funeral services will be held 10:00 am Saturday, May 28, 2022, at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS with interment in Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl, MS. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 pm Friday, May 27, 2022, and from 9:00 am-10:00 am Saturday at the funeral home.

Mrs. McCaughan, born January 15, 1945, in DeKalb, MS to Archie Grady Storey and Nannie Eliza Stewart Storey, was married to Robert Earl McCaughan in 1963. Mrs. McCaughan owned and operated McCaughan Realty where she delighted in helping people achieve their homeowner goals for 43 years. She was a member of Crossgates Baptist Church in Brandon, and she contributed to many community organizations. She was a member of Alpha Phi omega chapter and enthusiastically supported their heart health philanthropy.  She enjoyed her garden, and she had a passion for painting, drawing, traveling, learning and people. She loved her family very much, and spending time with them brought great joy to her life. She will be missed by all who loved and knew her.

Mrs. McCaughan was preceded in death by her parents, Archie Grady Storey and Nannie Eliza Stewart Storey; brothers, Grady Storey, John Storey, and Nathan Storey.

Mrs. McCaughan is survived by her husband of 58 years, Robert Earl McCaughan; children, Karen Hubacek (Jeff), Beverly Swartz (Raymond), and Danny McCaughan (Hazel); grandchildren, Ryan Roberts (Lindsay), Claire Hubacek, Sara Grace Hubacek, Ren Hubacek, Seth McCaughan, Abby McCaughan, Ashley McCaughan, Amelia McCaughan, Maggi Swartz, Danielle Swartz, and Maycee Swartz; great-grandchild, Meredith Katherine Roberts; nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
