Mrs. Margaret Alta Fannin Rayburn, age 93, of Olive Hill, Kentucky, passed away Monday, May 23, 2022 on her family farm, surrounded by her loving family. She was born Friday, January 4, 1929, on her family farm in Carter County, Kentucky, to the late Estill and Nola Masters Fannin. Alta was a member of Flat Fork Church of God for many years. She enjoyed gardening, cooking for her family and spending time with her family, especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Edgar Rayburn; one infant child; two great-grandchildren, Ben Jordan and Harley Shianne Rayburn; two brothers, Herbert Fannin and Billy Fannin. Alta is survived by three sons, Dwight (Pat) Rayburn, Ronald Rayburn, and Barry (Connie) Rayburn all of Olive Hill, Kentucky; one daughter, Sharon Rayburn of Olive Hill, Kentucky; six grandchildren, Stephanie (Kevin) Jordan, Mary (Mike) Gifford, Stephen Rayburn, Jessica (Derek) Henderson, Brianna (Joey) McCleese, Jacob (Marisa) Rayburn and Paxton Rayburn; 11 great-grandchildren, along with a host of other family members and friends who will sadly mourn her passing. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, May 26, 2022 at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, Kentucky with Brother Clifford “Tippy” Price, Brother Gayle Price and Brother Steve Madden officiating. Burial will follow in the Walnut Grove Cemetery in Olive Hill, Kentucky. Friends may visit from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 and after 9 a.m. until the service hour on Thursday, May 26, 2022, at Globe Funeral Chapel Kentucky, 17277 West Highway US 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky 41164. Stephen Rayburn, Jacob Rayburn, Kevin Jordan, Mike Gifford, Justin Johnson, Derek Henderson and Joey McCleese will serve as pallbearers. Greg Kiser, Preston Hall, Ron Fannin, Dick Fannin and Paxton Rayburn will serve as honorary pallbearers.
