Kathleen A. O’Donnell (nee Sales), 74, of Toms River, NJ, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Friday, May 20, 2022.

Born in Jersey City, NJ, she grew up in Roselle, NJ and, together with her husband, Michael, raised their family in Toms River.

Kathy was a registered nurse and worked at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune, NJ. She later performed research for Princeton Biomedical.

Follow her retirement from the medical field, Kathy helped care for her beloved grandchildren.

She was a parishioner of St. Joseph RC Church, Toms River.

Kathy was very proud of her Irish Heritage and her family.

She was predeceased by her grandson, Michael, and her parents, Walter and Anne Sales.

Kathy is survived by her husband of 51 years, Michael F. O’Donnell, her five children and their spouses, Michael and Lisa O’Donnell of Toms River, Tim and Dina O’Donnell of Toms River, Amy and Nick Caruso of Toms River, Patrick and Katie O’Donnell of Toms River, Kerry and Jay Giftos of Toms River, two brothers Walter Sales of Monument, CO, Thomas Sales of Brick, NJ, a sister Rosemary O’Shea of Westfield, NJ and eleven grandchildren Mollie, Liam, Tim, Daniel, Kevin, Nicholas, Ryan, Reese, Teagan, Grady and Keegan.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, May 26, 2022 4:00pm – 8:00pm at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funeral, 145 St. Catherine Blvd., Toms River.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Friday, May 27, 2022 10:00am at St. Joseph RC Church, Toms River.  Burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Toms River.
