<p>Veronica C. Ford (Vera), 97, of Ramsey passed away on May 21st, 2022 comfortably in her home. Vera was born in Brooklyn, New York on August 2nd, 1924 to the late Anna and Frederick William Blocker. Vera was a 1942 graduate of Bay Ridge High School. She attended Brooklyn College and City College of New York for accounting. Vera worked at Ramsey Lumber Company for 13 years as a bookkeeper. She was office manager and bookkeeper for several businesses of John Schepps of Chester, NY. Vera retired at the age of 79 from John&rsquo;s Companies. She married the late Leonard M. Ford in February 1948. Vera and Len had five daughters, all named with a &ldquo;D&rdquo;- Deborah, Donna, Dawn, Doretta and Derry. Debbie married Herbert Yauch, Donna married Clinton Lynch, Dawn married Robert Thurston, Doretta married Charles Sheaffer and Derry married Douglas Blake. Vera had nine grandchildren; Kristen and Jennifer Yauch, Nicole (Lynch) Khezzar, Michelle (Lynch) Barredo, Clinton Ford Lynch, Jessica Thurston, Kimberly Sheaffer, Tyler and Ryan Blake. Vera also had four great-grandchildren; Logan, Charlotte, Remi and Reagan. Vera was preceded by her parents, brother, Fred W. Blocker and son-in-law, Charles Sheaffer. Vera rode her bike outdoors until she was 87 years old and sang in St. Paul&rsquo;s choir since 1963. She also sang for the funeral masses of St. Paul. She did the calligraphy for the baptism certificates and the monthly cover booklets for 25 years. She was active in senior activities such as trips to New York City, church pilgrimages to Europe and day trips from the Leisure Club and Mahwah Honda Club where she was the treasurer. Vera enjoyed watching the New York Mets, Brooklyn Nets and New York Giants. You could always find her dancing at events and being the life of the party at her grandchildren&rsquo;s weddings and family gatherings. She crocheted blankets for those in need and for her family as well. Her family will forever cherish these blankets.
