Peter Giesbrecht

Peter Giesbrecht was born May 30, 1937 to Abram and Tina Giesbrecht in Fernheim Paraguay. He was the 6th out of 9 children in the family. He lived and spent his early years in Gnadenheim. At the age of 9 he accepted the Lord Jesus into his heart and was baptized at the age of 15. Living in Paraguay was not easy and often came with may risks but God was so faithful in providing protection again and again. <br><br>When Peter was 18 he found the love of his life - Kaethe Janz. They were married July 10th, 1958. They were blessed with three children, Ed, Wilf and Monika. In 1969 Peter and Kaethe emigrated to Canada and settled in St. Catharines where Peter worked as a carpenter until he retired at age 64. They found their home at Scott Street Mennonite Brethren church where Peter served faithfully in many ministries over the years.<br><br>One of Peter's greatest loves and joy was his family. He loved his family so much, praying for each child, grandchild and great grandchild everyday. <br><br>Peter leaves behind the love of his life, Kaethe, his kids Ed (Kim), Wilf (Judy) , Monika (Mel) as well as his grandchildren, Josh (Becky), Katelyn, Breanne (Nico), Aaron (Mary), Sam, Rachel, Tim (Amanda); as well as 6 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings: Katja; Frieda; Hans; Hilda and Liese (Jake).<br><br>Peters family will receive friends &amp; relatives on Thursday, May 26th, 2022 from 6:30-8:00pm at Scott Street Mennonite Brethern Church (339 Scott St, St. Catharines, ON L2N 1J7). Obituary
