<div style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;"> <p style="line-height: 1.8; font-size: 11pt; margin: 0;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Channing Carlin Benton was born on September 4, 1937, in San Antonio, TX to parents Frank Channing Benton and Alice Case Benton. He died in San Antonio on May 15, 2022 (84).</span></p> <p style="line-height: 1.8; margin: 0;">He married Betty Joan Martyn Benton in 1961 and was by her side when she died November 4, 2014.</p> <p style="line-height: 1.8; font-size: 8pt; margin: 0;">&nbsp;</p> <p style="line-height: 1.8; margin: 0;">He is survived by sons Mark Channing Benton (and wife Jami) and Stuart Martyn Benton, his grandchildren Paige Channing Benton Gaines (Audie) and Grant Williams Benton, and great grandchildren Scarlett Olivia-Claire Benton Gaines, Karter Kane Salinaz, Audie Jo-Lynn Gaines, and another soon-to-be-born great grandson. He is also survived by sisters-in-law Patsy Barr (David) and Lorraine Glasscock (Albert), a niece and three nephews and their children.</p> <p style="line-height: 1.8; margin: 0;">Chan earned a Journalism degree from UT-Austin (1959). His career was in advertising and marketing. He retired from USAA as Director of P&amp;C Member Marketing. He represented the company at many insurance industry meetings nationwide. Betty often went with him, and especially enjoyed the Southern and New England states. Chan passed on his love of cars to his sons, and they attended many car shows/auctions with him. After retiring, Chan was an elementary school substitute teacher for 17 years, a challenge sometimes since he also liked to play tennis and bridge. He was an Army Reservist for 9 years and an Acolyte, Young Churchman, and Bible Study member at church. Obituary

Channing Carlin Benton was born on September 4, 1937, in San Antonio, TX to parents Frank Channing Benton and Alice Case Benton. He died in San Antonio on May 15, 2022 (84).

He married Betty Joan Martyn Benton in 1961 and was by her side when she died November 4, 2014.
