Barbara Ann Marquez Fernandez , age 74, a long time  resident of San Antonio, New Mexico joined the angels in heaven on May 17th, 2022 in Albuquerque, NM.

 Barbara was born in Anton Chico, NM to Orlando and Vicenta Nelson Marquez.  She was the third eldest of nine children.

 Barbara was a lifelong Catholic and belong to the Immaculate Conception Church.  She spent her life serving others as a psychiatric nurse in Las Vegas, NM.  She enjoyed traveling, concerts,  gambling, gardening and spending as much time as possible at any beach in California.  Barbara will always be remembered for toughness she had but the softness in heart for her grandchildren.

 She was preceded in death by her father Orlando Marquez, mother Vicenta Nelson Marquez, Sisters Christine Marquez and Laura Marquez grandson Anthony Otero, and nephews Sonny James Marquez and Isaac Wildenstein.

 She is survived by her husband of 45 yrs. George Fernandez of San Antonio, NM,

Tony Montano and wife (Deborah Montano) children Anthony Otero and wife (Amanda Otero) children Amaris, Alianna and Azzarea Otero, Fabien Valdes, Natasha Montano child Aleena Han, Luna Montano, Zenas Montano partner(Clarissa Zollorazno) and their daughter Indigo Montano of Moreno Valley California.
Daniel Montano and wife (Andrea) daughters Maya and Marina and son Myles from Belen NM.
Felicia Lovato Montano (David Lovato) son Marcus and daughters Khristin and Lauren Lovato from Escondido, CA.
Steven Fernandez and partner (Maria Candelaria) stepsons Jonathon and Donavon Hanna from Rio Rancho, NM.
Amanda Fernandez Sena and husband (Edward Sena) daughters Kristianna and Kianna and son Kaden Sena from Albuquerque, NM.
Christian Fernandez from Las Vegas, NM.
Nicole Fernandez and partner (Robert Pratt) daughter Avery Pratt from Fort Worth, TX.

Barbara was also survived by her brothers and sisters

Services will be held from the Immaculate Conception Church with a rosary on Monday, May 23, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. followed by the

funeral  mass at 9:30 am at the Immaculate Conception Church in Las Vegas, NM with Father George Salazar as celebrant.

 A luncheon will be held at 12:00 pm on the same day at the Serf Theater Hall in Las Vegas, NM.  A special ceremony will be held at the Marquez ranch later in remembrance of a beautiful life lived.
