Sandra Kay Richmond Obituary

Sandra Kay Richmond Age 62 of Chapin Township passed away on Friday, May 20, 2022 at her home with family by her side. Per her wishes, cremation has taken place. A family gathering at Henderson Park is planned for August 6, 2022. Time will be announced. Sandra was born on November 28, 1959 to William and Marilyn (Mulligan) Schultz in Owosso. She graduated from St. Charles Night School in 1994. Sandra was a devoted wife, mother, Nana, and great-Nana. She lived most of her life in Elsie. There she met the love of her life, Nathan Richmond. They married June 21, 1986 and later had their daughter Sam in 1987. They spent almost 36 years together, raising their children and grandchildren in the country which she loved. Sandra worked as a CNA and Mental Health worker. She loved helping others. She worked for St. Frances Nursing Home in Saginaw before spending 24 years at Babion's Adult Foster Care and Assisted Living in Merrill. She loved her job and her residents there - it was her second home. Sandra enjoyed spoiling her grandkids and great-grandkids. She also loved being outdoors in her yard, gardening with the little ones, or taking nature walks on her land. Sandra enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, watching soap operas or cartoons, and most of all, being with her family. Sandra is survived by her husband, Nathan Richmond; her children, Earl (Jessica) Tessman of Ovid, Todd (Kimberly) Tessman of Brant, Desiree Tessman (William Rogers) of Chesaning, and Samantha (Steven) Meseraull of Elsie; her adopted son, Robert Belanger (Dana Bacon); grandchildren, Desariee Rogers, Shyann Tessman, Cameron Tessman, Arianna Brown, Sophia Dixon, Dominic Nethaway, Blaze Tessman, Hanah Tessman, Ayden Meseraull, and Kylie Meseraull; great-grandkids, Hayden and Willow; her siblings, Lena Alchin of Haslett, Faith (Don) Laviolette of Merrill, Frank (Jerri) Schultz of Perry, Charlyn Schultz of Ovid, and Kevin (Margaret) Schultz of Elsie; sister-in-law, Carleen of Mancelona; her dog, Rufus; her birds, Betty and Wilma; and her cats, Fuzzy and Jacket. She is predeceased by her parents, Bill and Marilyn; 2 brothers, Raymond and Cody; her son, Shawn Farkus; nephew, Shawn Schultz; brother-in-law, Tracy Alchin; and many other relatives. Memorial contributions are suggested to the family.
