Marjorie T. Melby, age 104, passed away May 20, 2022 at the Meadowbrook Nursing Home in Black River Falls, WI. Marjorie was born December 3, 1917 in Black River Falls, the daughter of Mary (Rice) and Hiram Doud. Marjorie was retired from the telephone company. She enjoyed camping and traveling, especially to Israel which she visited twice. Marjorie was a very sweet loving person who will be missed dearly. Marjorie is survived by her nephew James (Diane) Skutley, her grandchildren; Roy (Barbara) Crutchfield of Hawthorn Woods, IL, and Kimberly Crutchfield of Black River Falls. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren: Dustin Martin, Katherine (Larry) Wallace, Matthew and Elizabeth Crutchfield. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Sherman, daughter Judith Crutchfield, brother Earl Doud, two sisters Dorothy Skutley and Mary Grace Hoard. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at Torgerson's Funeral Home, 408 N. Water Street, Black River Falls with Chaplain Kevin Newell officiating. Family and friends may gather one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will take place privately at Riverside Cemetery. The service will be livestreamed. The Torgerson's Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
