Sharon Burton Neal

<p>Sharon Burton Neal peacefully went to heaven in her sleep on May 16, 2022, and will celebrate her 83rd birthday later this month with her Lord and loved ones in paradise.&nbsp; Born May 29,1939 to Joseph Reid and June Wilma Hickerson Burton in Lubbock, Texas, she later grew up in Temple, Texas.&nbsp; In 1958, while attending Southwest Texas State Teacher&rsquo;s College in San Marcos, Texas, she met her loving husband, C.E. Neal, and married later that summer.</p> <p>Sharon&rsquo;s immense love for children was shown both at home and throughout her career.&nbsp; When her first two children, Keryl and Kyle left the nest, she and C.E. flew to Romania to adopt their daughter, Kayce in 1991.&nbsp; Her heart for children was also shared in her profession as a lifelong educator, teaching high school and university English courses for a portion of her career and working with special needs children as a speech therapist and educational diagnostician for the Ellis County Cooperative for many years, thereafter.</p> <p>She is survived by her sister Mary Jo Robinson and husband Jimmy, son Kyle and wife Christie, two daughters Keryl Green and husband Mike, and Kayce Chambers and husband Kyle. She is affectionately called &ldquo;Grammy&rdquo; by her seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.&nbsp; Sharon was preceded in death by her beloved husband, C. E.
