Wayne Johnson Womack Sr., age 87 of Joplin, Missouri passed Monday May 16, 2022, at his home with his wife and children by his side after a 31-year battle with Parkinsons.<br><br>He was born September 16, 1934, in Mt Carmel, Illinois to A.E. and Mary (Johnson) Womack.<br><br>Wayne worked at a local greenhouse in his hometown as a teenager. He also worked in maintenance at Blessing Hospital in Quincey, IL before he began working for Firestone Tire and Rubber Co as a drill press operator for 17 years. After a strike at this company, Wayne embarked upon a new career as a salesman for Kirby Vacuums in 1968. In this career, his love for people grew strong. He was quickly promoted to Area Distributor, owning and operating Kirby Co of eastern Iowa in Burlington, IA for 2-1/2 yrs. Promoted from there into a Factory Distributor, owning and operating The Kirby Company of Joplin in Joplin MO for 28 years. Wayne retired in 2000 from The Kirby Company of Joplin which is now owned and operated by his son.<br><br>Wayne was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, Carthage, Missouri His heart for ministry was enormous. He served in many capacities his entire adult life. As the head of his singing family, he ministered throughout the Midwest for many years. He owned and operated The Kirby Company of Joplin for 28 years. Wayne was passionate and lived life to the fullest. <br><br>Wayne is survived by his wife Mary Ann VaLeu , whom he married on June 16, 1956, in Quincy, Illinois. Wayne is also survived by one son, Wayne (John) Johnson Womack, Jr. and wife Michelle, Carthage, Missouri; four daughters, Lynda Woods and husband Jim, Gardner, Kansas, Brenda Womack, Independence, Missouri, Susan Hyde and husband Keith, Overland Park, Kansas, Jill Tatum and husband Len, Joplin, Missouri; three brothers, David, John and wife Linda, Paul and wife Sharon; 21 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends.<br>Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Robert, Dean, Jim, Richard, two sisters, Ruth Brown and Mary Null, and one great granddaughter, Sadie Young.<br><br>Pallbearers are Christopher Wilson, Mark Young, Justin Kaughman, Blake Womack, Len Tatum, and Austin Tatum. Ushering the casket is Keaton Tatum and Carson Womack. Honorary Pallbearers are Dustin Wilson, Brandon Wilson, Alex Waller, Jason Tischer, Jake Rhoads, Ryan Sullivan, Bobby Moss, Tad Johnson, Blake Bard and Jerry Davis.<br><br>Funeral services will be 10:00 am Friday, May 27, 2022, at Carthage First Nazarene (2000 Grand Ave. Carthage, Missouri).
