Phyllistina (Campbell) Manradge Obituary

Phyllistina Manradge was born to the late Grace Ann Campbell (Rowe) and Obadiah Campbell on January 22, 1942, in Clarendon, Jamaica WI. She was the youngest of ten children: Irene, Clifford, Jane, Mary, Leibert, Violet, Manley, Winifred and Noel. Seven have predeceased her. In her late teens, she migrated to England to reside with her sister, Winifred. This move began the close bond with her niece, Henrietta-Connell who is more like her sister. While in England, Phyllistina and Eustace Manradge became reacquainted as they previously knew each other from attending the same school in Jamaica. This romance led to their marriage and to later become the proud parents of Paul, Mark and Tasha. During her years in England, she began to study nursing at the Iikeston General Hospital where she met some of her dearest and best friends. In 1966, she migrated to Canada where she continued her career has a licensed practical nurse while being a doting mother and wife. In April 1971, Phyllistina arrived in the USA and wanted to continue practicing her career. Unfortunately, she was denied the opportunity as her education abroad was determined to be unequal to U.S. standards. She said she's not going back to school again. In the 1980's, she secured employment with the North Jersey Developmental Center in Totowa, NJ. After several years later, she left and began employment with Spectrum for living in Closter, NJ. In the early 90's while working at Spectrum, she was advised that her work shift would change, and she would no longer be able to have Sundays off. And in true Phyllistina Manradge fashion, she refused to work on the Lord’s Day and quit. From that moment on, she proudly worked full time for the Lord pastoring at the Seashore Bible Church of God Inc. in Paterson, NJ. She had an unmeasurable love and passion to serve God. She saved up enough money to take a trip with the saints to Jerusalem, city of the Lord. What an opportunity and life changing experience. Still yet, she never neglected her family. She had an unwavering love for her children and husband to no end. She could be very tough on us at times, but it was all motivated by her passion, sacrifices, and love. She would do anything in the world to help someone in need. She was fun, boisterous, vibrant, loud, strong, and independent. She wanted the best for all of us and for the work of God. Her light dimmed on Tuesday evening, May 10, 2022. She will be missed dearly. She leaves to cherish precious memories her children; Paul Manradge, Mark Manradge (Shana), Tasha Mills (Steven); stepchildren, Vevine Witter, Duane Ferguson, Ray Manradge (Joni), six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, siblings, Jane Lindo, Manley Campbell and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church members and friends.
