Thomas Andrew Brooks Lansing Went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at the age of 84. Born November 29, 1937 to Thomas and Beatrice (Bass) Brooks in Grand Ledge, Michigan. Tom worked for the State of Michigan at the Secondary Complex, the Capital Complex and Historical Library retiring in 1993 as a maintenance supervisor for the Department of Management and Budget. Tom was a handyman who was very mechanical and was intrigued by the design and engineering of products. He could do anything from building a backhoe out of raw materials to developing a conveyer system that aided him in digging out his own basement. Tom also loved sailing on his sailboat. Most memorable was his 4-week sailing trip down the Mississippi River that he took with his wife, Marge that left Muskegon, Michigan and ended in New Orleans, Louisiana. Tom enjoyed many things in life and he lived his life to the fullest. He was loved by many and will be missed by all who remember him. Preceding him in death were his son, Thomas Charles Brooks; granddaughter, Veronica Olney; sister, Joann; his parents and step-mother, Harriet Brooks. Surviving is his wife of 50 years, Marge Brooks; daughter, Tammy (Rob) Olney; step-children, Richard Slaght, Margaret Gonzalez, Keith (Kim) Slaght; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren with 2 on the way as well as many extended family and friends. A memorial service will be held at Judson Baptist Church in Lansing on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at 10:00 AM.
