Our Mom, Judy was born May 13, 1939 in Rolla North Dakota. She was raised in St. John North Dakota, the first child of Howard and Mettelena Smith followed by a sister Jean Ann. She graduated from St. John High School and Minot State University and then became a teacher. She taught elementary school for many years in North Dakota and Manitoba. She married our dad, Hugh Broadfoot on May 26, 1962 and moved to Boissevain Manitoba where she lived the rest of her life. She owned Boissevain Welding with Hugh, was active in the community including supporting us, her children and grandchildren, in our many sports and artistic activites. She loved traveling on many family vacations that we took to destinations across Western Canada and The United States making sure that we got to have fun, see relatives and special places along the way. In 2009 she organized a trip to Disney World for all of us, her entire family, to ensure that we could all experience it together while we were all still together, and it was the best trip ever. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She is survived by her children Devron, Jason (Maryth Gilroy) and Shirley, grandchildren Taylor (Jeromy Penner), Austin, Shae, and Avery, great-grandchildren Scarlett and Nate, her sister Jean Ann Biwer (Gerry). She was pre-deceased by her husband Hugh and her daughter Susan.
