MUSCATINE, Iowa - Betty A. Hoffman, 101, of Muscatine, died May 16, 2022, at Addington Place.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at Grace Lutheran Church. Following the Service, lunch will be served at the church. A private inurnment will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be left to Grace Lutheran Church or the Muscatine Humane Society. The Ralph J. Betty was born on October 1, 1920, the daughter of Ralph E. and Minnie M. (Shoultz) Romann. She married Lawrence E. Hoffman on January 27, 1946.

She attended Muscatine schools graduating from Muscatine High School in 1938 and Pasadena (California) City College in 1940.

She retired from the Muscatine School System and enjoyed doing volunteer work for many organizations.

Betty was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church, a Charter member of Keystone AOK Federated Club, a member of Chapter JR P.E.O., a member of Muscatine Trinity Friends, and a supporter of the Muscatine Symphony Orchestra, supplying baked goods at performances for many years.

Betty was an "avid" sports fan. She enjoyed attending Muscatine Muskies, Chicago Cubs, and Iowa Hawkeyes games. She traveled all over the United States to attend major league baseball games.

Those left to honor her memory include daughter, Ruthann Hoffman; granddaughter, Laura (Joseph) Peate; and great-granddaughter, Daisy. She is also survived by two step-grandchildren, Ted (Jennifer) Marston of Virginia and Christine Harrison of Muscatine; six step-grandchildren and dear friends, Wally and Darla Hays.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a brother, Jack Romann, a sister, Ruth M. Smith, and a step-grandson, Joel Marston.
