Celebration of Life services for Margaret D. Ogden, 99, of Chouteau, will be held on Saturday, May 21 at 10:00 AM at Stephens-Key Chapel in Pryor with burial following at Chouteau North Cemetery. Come and go viewing and book signing will be held on Friday from Noon- 5 PM and visitation will be held from 5-7 PM Friday evening. Services are under the care and direction of Stephens-Key Funeral and Cremation Care in Pryor. Margaret D. (Morgan) Ogden was born on May 12, 1923 in Henryetta, Oklahoma to Frank and Ivy (Brown) Morgan. She passed away on May 14, 2022 at her home in Chouteau, at the age of 99 years and 2 days. Margaret grew up and attended school in Wewoka, Oklahoma. She and George D. “Dee” Ogden were married on March 23, 1940 in Wewoka where they made their home just a short time. They later lived in California briefly then Tulsa before moving to Chouteau in 1959. Margaret and Dee bought Mazie Landing which they owned and operated until 1969. After selling Mazie Landing they moved to Chouteau where they remained throughout their life. They opened Dee’s Bait and Tackle at their home in the early 70’s and operated it until 1980. Above anything else, Margaret was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She loved her family very much and enjoyed any opportunity she had to be with them. They went to garage sales, had picnics or just gathered together as a family for meals. She also loved her trips to the casino and playing bingo. She was always fun and had a great sense of humor. She will be greatly missed by all those who shared in her life. She is survived by her six children, Roy Ogden of Chouteau, Dolly Perryman and husband Jim of Chouteau, Jerry Ogden and wife Janice of Claremore, Sherrill Wolfenkoehler and husband John of Salina, Mike Ogden and wife Cindy of Kingman, Kansas and Virginia Grass and husband Stacy of Pryor; 9 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 52 great-great grandchildren and 3 great-great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Dee and 8 grandchildren.
