David Lee Hayes Jr.

<p>On May 13, 2022, Mr. David Lee Hayes Jr. (69 years old) was called home to be with the Lord! David was born on August 10, 1952, to David Lee Hayes Sr. and Katherine Diggs Hayes in High Point, NC. David attended William Penn in High Point, NC and graduated from High Point Central in 1970. A resident of Jamestown, NC. David&nbsp;was married on September 25, 1976, to the late Barbara Naomi Withers Hayes. To their union three children were born: Keonna, Brittany and Bryan.</p> <p>David was employed for many years at Borden Dairy Plant in High Point, NC. Borden&rsquo;s later became Hunter Farms Dairy. David retired from Hunter Farms some years later. After retirement David owned a small janitorial service, cleaning office buildings until his health declined.</p> <p>David was baptized in Jesus Name at King&rsquo;s Chapel Holiness Church Apostolic in High Point. He served faithfully for many years as an usher and a member of the Deacon Board. David was raised in a family to know the Lord with a personal relationship. David loved the Lord and taught his family the same. Later, he attended and became a member of Bethel Apostolic Temple of High Point, Pastor Kelvin Cash.</p> <p>David was a 13-year leukemia cancer survivor and participated in many case studies to assist in finding a proven treatment for leukemia. David stayed positive through all his cancer treatments and knew that the Lord would take care of it all! David enjoyed fishing and doing handyman work for himself and others. David loved to grill outdoors. Some of his favorite grilled foods were hot dogs, burgers, and steak. David enjoyed most of all spending family time with his wife, children, grandchildren, and church family.</p> <p>David was preceded in death by his loving, wife devoted wife, Barbara N. Withers Hayes, a still born son, David Michael Hayes, his father, David Lee Hayes Sr., a sister, Little Miss Sharon Ann Hayes, a special sweet mother-in-law, Mrs. Dorothy Naomi Withers, his paternal grandparents Mr. &amp; Mrs. John and Lula Hayes, his maternal grandparents Mr. &amp; Mrs. Chester and Tressie Diggs.</p> <p>He leaves to cherish his great memories: three children, Keonna (Jonathan) Rorie of Jamestown, NC, Brittany Hayes of High Point, NC, and Bryan (Marissa) Hayes of Advance, NC; six grandchildren, Jonathan Hill-Rorie, Nicholas Rorie, Gabriel Rorie, Quinn Hayes, Journey Young and Jordann Young; his mother Mrs. Katherine Diggs Hayes; four brothers, Kenneth Hayes of Kileen, TX, Titus Hayes, Reginald Hayes and Allen Hayes all of High Point, NC; sister, Karen (Dennis) Nawaz Bryant of High Point, NC; three goddaughters, Brittany, Breonna and LaMiracle Ballard of High Point, NC; special friends, Elder Everette and Josephine Quick, Elder William and Ella Dumas, Jerry and Geraldine Ballard, Min. James and Min. Carolyn Wright and Min. Printist and late Barbara Cash Sr.; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws; extended relatives, and many more friends of High Point, NC and Augusta, GA.</p>
