Bobbie Shirleen Green, 65, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 6, 2022. She spent her final days surrounded by her loved ones. Bobbie was born in Hartford, CT on December 18, 1956, to Willie H. Milner and the late Pecola (Peters) Milner. Bobbie attended Weaver High School. After receiving her diploma, she later furthered her education at Capital Community College, where she obtained an Associates of Science in Social Service. Bobbie was employed by the State of Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities as a typist. For the past 11 years, she devoted most of her time to her beloved students at Hartford Job Corps Academy, where she served as the senior recreation advisor/supervisor, art instructor and resident director. She got up every Sunday to drive her students to church rain or shine. The students knew her as Ms. Green and will remember her for her positive energy and God-fearing spirit. Bobbie retired from Hartford Job Corps Academy on January 14, 2022. She was a dedicated member of Liberty Christian Center for many years, and never hesitated to show God’s love to everyone she came across.
