Jeffrey Michael Kahn Obituary

Jeffrey Michael Kahn, 73, of Broomfield, Colorado, passed away suddenly on May 15, 2022, due to complications following back surgery. Jeff was born on March 6, 1949, to Justin and Ilse Kahn of Baltimore, Maryland. After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania, Jeff and Ilene moved back to Maryland, where he began his career in private practice as a periodontist, and where they raised two daughters, Jessica and Jody.

After retiring from clinical practice in 2000, Jeff earned an MBA and began consulting in dental practice management from their new home in Estero, Florida. Jeff had many interests: he loved to golf, sail, kayak, and socialize. He became an active member of the Bonita Springs Art League and he sculpted stone, carved decoy ducks, and designed mixed-media pieces that incorporated mosaic tile. Jeff and Ilene made frequent trips to Colorado to visit their daughters; they skied in winter, and spent many summers vacationing in Keystone.

In 2010, Jeff and Ilene moved to Broomfield, Colorado, to be closer to their daughters and their spouses. Jeff was particularly enamored by his granddaughter, Sydney. The two shared a special bond until he passed. Jeff was a family man who delighted in the opportunity to spend time with his brothers and his nephews, many of whom live in Colorado. He was an avid skier who split his time between the Front Range and Granby, where he and Ilene built their dream house. For the past four years, Jeff’s happy place was at his mountain house, where he relished the simple things – time with family and friends in the Rocky Mountains.

Jeff is survived by his wife of 51 years, Ilene; daughter and son-in-law, Jessica Kahn and Dylan Taatjes; daughter and son-in-law, Jody and Jeremy Lawrence and their daughter Sydney; brother and sister-in-law, Ron and Donna Kahn; brother and sister-in-law, Brian and Ann Kahn; and his four nephews, Ben, Zach, Dan, and Josh, their spouses, and children.

In lieu of flowers please consider a donation in Jeffrey’s name to Conservation Colorado (https://conservationco.org/) or Planned Parenthood
