Benjamin Cruz, a resident of Rawlins, Wyoming, passed away at home, surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, May 15, 2022 at the age of 66.  Benjamin was a lifelong resident of Rawlins. He was born to Jacob and Grace Cruz on April 8, 1956. He met the love of his life Sarah, and they were married on February 13, 1981 in Rawlins.  

During his life, Ben worked for the Union Pacific Railroad as a Brakeman and Conductor for 15 years. He also worked as a truck driver, welder’s helper, and did various construction jobs.  He owned an upholstery shop in Rawlins for ten years and was very skilled and took pride in his work.

Ben loved hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles, and snowmobiling. He was a true outdoorsman. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and teaching them about all the things that he loved.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Sarah Cruz, his son Paul Cruz, his daughter Christine (Joshua) Ford, his grandchildren, Layla, Emma, and Daniel Jr., sisters Frances and Sylvia, his brothers Gene, Leroy, and Herman and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jacob Ernest Cruz and Gregorita (Grace) Vigil Cruz, brothers Ernest, Neri, Gilbert, and David, and sisters Fidencia and Charlotte.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at 6:00 PM at the Jeffrey Center in Rawlins, Wyoming.
