Sharon Marie Simmons Jenkins, age 74, passed away on May 16, 2022 peacefully at her home in Gulfport surrounded by her three surviving children, Marie, Michelle and Maxiene, and her sister Donna.

She is preceded in death by parents John Henry Simmons and Neomia Powell Simmons; siblings, Robert Simmons, Frank “Pete” Simmons, Carolyn Carter, John Simmons, Rhonda Cospelich; children, Mark Cuevas, Melissa “Missy” Cuevas Harris, Michael Yake, and Matthew “Odie” Jenkins.

She is survived by children, Marie Yake Hansen of Gulfport, Michelle Nance of Gulfport, Maxiene Mitchell of Saucier, Darlene Cuevas of Gulfport; 15 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; siblings, Donna Bell, Alan Simmons, Brian Simmons; and numerous other loved ones.

For many years, Sharon was a dedicated board member and caretaker of Conn Cemetery in Long Beach and spent much of her time researching and providing genealogy. 

Private service with burial will be at Conn Cemetery.
