HORNICK: Richard Warren "Rick" -<br><br>A lifelong resident of Chatham, Rick Hornick passed away peacefuly at his residence with his loving wife by his side on Monday, May 16, 2022 at the age of 53. <br><br>Born in Chatham, Rick was the son of the late Robert and Mary (DeWael) Hornick. <br><br>Beloved husband to Tammy Hornick (nee Dunn).<br><br>Loving and devoted father to Mercedie Martin (Michael) of Chatham and Harlie Hornick of London. <br><br>Cherished step-father to Brad Wonnacott (Bonnie) of Chatham and Megan Laprise (Andre) of Grande Pointe. <br><br>Proud Grandpa to Hannah Martin, Tristan Martin, AnnaBelle Laprise and Aubree Laprise.<br><br>Smartest and best looking brother to Gloria Tulp (Dave) of Chatham, the late Robert "Joey" Hornick (1969), Judy Tulp (Ernie) of Chatham, Lorri Hornick of Tilbury and MaryAnn Hornick of Chatham. <br><br>Uncle to Jackie Parent, Jill Young, Garnet Tulp, Brad Tulp and Joshua Hornick.<br><br>Special son-in-law to George Wonnacott (Pam). <br><br>Rick will be missed by his furr-babies, Bailey, Zeva, Leroy, Abbey and Moose. <br><br>Also missed by his huge racing family, cousins and friends.<br><br>Rick's passion was racing, from hot wheels to go-karts to stock cars. He was proud to be Head Tech at the Southern Ontario Motor Speedway and he truly did what he loved. <br><br>Rick had a unique sense of humour and a big heart. His passion for cars often spilled over into the yard(s), always bringing another project home. The mechanics did not stop at the cars, as Rick was always looking to increase his inventory of candy machines, slot machines and a juke box that the kids loved to put quarters in (supplied by him, of course). <br><br>Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 from 6:00 - 8:00pm. A Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home at 11:00am on Thursday, May 19, 2022. Interment to follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham. A Live-stream of the Service will be available on the Funeral Home website. <br><br>Thank you to Rick's many friends for their uplifting visits and special thanks to Steve, Debbie, Tim, Todd, Jimmy, Henry and Maria for their extra compassion and support throughout Rick's last few weeks. HORNICK: Richard Warren "Rick" -

A lifelong resident of Chatham, Rick Hornick passed away peacefuly at his residence with his loving wife by his side on Monday, May 16, 2022 at the age of 53.

Born in Chatham, Rick was the son of the late Robert and Mary (DeWael) Hornick.

Beloved husband to Tammy Hornick (nee Dunn).

Loving and devoted father to Mercedie Martin (Michael) of Chatham and Harlie Hornick of London.

Cherished step-father to Brad Wonnacott (Bonnie) of Chatham and Megan Laprise (Andre) of Grande Pointe.
