Carl Wenrich, Jr. Obituary

Carl James Wenrich, Jr., age 51, of West Chester, Pennsylvania, passed away on May 16, 2022.  He passed away peacefully with his family by his side.

Carl was born on March 30, 1971 in Pottsville, PA.  He spent his early childhood years in Seaford, DE and most of his formative years in Kemblesville, PA, graduating in 1989 from Avon Grove High School in West Grove, PA.  He went on to study accounting at Penn State, graduating in 1993.  Carl was President of Bliss and Company Limited, an accounting firm located in West Chester, PA.

Carl volunteered for the West Chester Downtown Foundation and he was on the board of the Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired.  He served on the Republican National Committee of Chester County.  In 2013, Carl ran for Borough Council in West Chester.

Carl liked skiing with his family in the winter and boating on the Rehoboth Bay in the summer.  He was an avid Steelers fan and enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his friends on his bowling team, the Jailbirds, at Timber Lanes in Oxford, PA.  He was known for his laugh, which put anyone around him at ease.  To be with Carl was to know you were going to have a good time.  He was an incredibly dedicated father, coaching Kheri’s soccer team as part of the West Chester United Soccer Club and they enjoyed riding roller coasters and water slides together.  They were blessed to take a Dad and Daughter trip to Universal Studios in Florida just before his diagnosis.

Carl is survived by a loving family: his wife, Erinn and daughter, Kherington; his parents, Carl and Nancy Wenrich; his brother, Jeff and wife, Barbara, his nephew, Shane and niece and goddaughter, Katie; and his sister, Kim.

It was Carl’s wish that his body be donated to scientific research through the Anatomy Gifts Registry.

Visitation with the family will be from 9:00AM until 11:00AM with a celebration of life service beginning at 11:00AM on Friday, June 10, 2022 at the LONGWOOD FUNERAL HOME of MATTHEW GENEREUX, 913 East Baltimore Pike, Kennett Square.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Carl’s name to the Kevin John McAleese Memorial Foundation, an organization that supports families of those suffering with brain cancer, or Tunnel to Towers, an organization that supports families of first responders. These are organizations Carl felt strongly about.
