Bonnie Helene Postma Obituary

Bonnie Helene Postma, a resident of Dallas, Oregon died on Friday, May 13th at Good Samaritan Hospital in Corvallis. She was born on July 31, 1937, in Walla Walla, Washington the daughter of Vernon and Berniece Parsons. The family moved to Monmouth, Oregon for a time and then settled in Portland. Bonnie graduated from Franklin High School in 1955. She attended Nursing School at Emanual Hospital in Portland for two years. Bonnie married on June 26, 1957, in Portland, Oregon. They moved to Corvallis as Arlin was attending Oregon State University. After graduation they moved to Richland, Washington where they purchased a fruit ranch. The orchard had apricots, cherries, and apples. Bonnie ran the ranch for 19 years. She loved picking apples and picked countless boxes over the years. They moved to Halfway, Oregon in 1983 until 1992 when they settled east of Dallas, Oregon. Bonnie designed their home. She served as the electrician and wired the home. Bonnie had one room dedicated to her Loom where she enjoyed weaving for many years. They loved their home and Bonnie developed the numerous flower gardens. They enjoyed their travel trailer, camping and fishing at Lostine and Eagle Creek. Bonnie was very proud of her 65 years marriage to Arlin. Bonnie loved playing with her grandchildren. She was a very important part of their lives.

She is survived by her husband, Arlin, son, James (Shee), daughter, Janet (Thomas) Cutsforth, daughter in law, Donna along with five grandchildren, Carli, Hannah, Paul, Cynde and Julie. She was preceded in death by her son, Karl Postma in 2009.

A Celebration of Bonnie’s Life will be held on Friday, May 27th at 2:00PM at Dallas Mortuary Tribute Center. Bonnie’s Celebration of Life will also be Lived-Streamed at https://my.gather.app/remember/bonnie-postma Flowers are welcome as Bonnie loved tending her flower garden at home. Memorials may be made to the Dallas Library Memorial Book Program or Dallas Food Bank or H20 in care of Dallas Mortuary Tribute Center who is caring for the family.
