Marilyn Ann Allen

Newark - Marilyn A. Allen, 86, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 13, 2022, at her home surrounded by family.

The family will greet friends from 2 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at Norman L. Waterman Funeral Home, Inc., 124 W. Miller St, Newark. Marilyn's funeral service will follow visitation at 5 p.m. Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 23, 2022, in Marion Cemetery.

Marilyn was born the daughter of the late Mayard and Anna (Steurrys) Adriaansen on Friday, January 17, 1936, in Newark, NY. She was raised on her parents farm in Marion and graduated from Marion High School. Marilyn also spent a lot of her time doing other things she loved, like baking, cooking, puzzles, gardening, and Sudoku. But above all else, there was nothing that Marilyn loved more than her family. Family, to Marilyn, was everything. They were the center of her world, and she made sure to make anyone she met feel like family. They are the legacy she leaves behind.

Marilyn will be remembered by her son, Doug (Mary Pat) Allen; daughters, Sheryl (Clay) Hardy and Karen (Paul Johnson) Allen; grandchildren Alec (Katie) Hardy, Kellen (Sara Mantz) Hardy, Lauren (Sean Hastings) Allen and Tyler (Sydni Verbridge) Alllen; brother, Stan (Marcia) Adriaansen; sister, Diane Woodhams.

Marilyn was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Alvin Allen, in 2015; and a brother, Melvin Adriaansen.
