Thomas Harold Huey, age 86 of Monroe, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 16, 2022, at his home.

 

Born May 19, 1935, in Doniphan, Missouri. He was the son of the late Willard and Elva (Woods) Huey. As a young child, his family moved to Michigan. After school, Tom first worked at US Steel Manufacturing.

 

Tom was a hardworking man. He made his living as an industrial painter at John A. Papalas Company for 35 years before retiring.  In his younger years, he enjoyed fishing. Tom took pride in his lawn and liked to cut the grass. In his free time, he especially liked to kick back at the bar, hanging out with buddies and scratching off his lotto tickets.

 

Beloved father of David Huey, Sheryl (Joseph) Monette, Janet (Charles) Headman, Lisa (Audie) Lambert, and Philip (Tammy) Wallin. Loving grandfather of Catrena Best, William Monette, Randall Monette, Charlie Headman, Rachel Footlander, Brittany Lambert, Ryan Lambert, and Taylor Galbraith. Great grandfather of Tara Best, Brooklyn Monette, Savannah Monette, Jaxon & Cameron Headman, Jordan & Jase Footlander, and Georgia Galbraith.

 

In addition to his parents, Tom is preceded in death by a son: Thomas M. Huey; and grandson: David M. Huey.

 

Everyone is invited to a visitation on Friday, May 20, 2022, at Rupp Funeral Home from 10:00 am to 12 noon. A funeral service will take place after viewing starting at 12 pm. Officiating is son: Pastor Philip Wallin. Burial will follow to Cadillac Memorial Gardens West in Westland, MI.
