Wilma “Willie” Tjarks, age 72, of Liscomb, passed away late Thursday, May 12th, at the Accura Healthcare in Marshalltown. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 21st, at the Liscomb Church of Christ with Pastor Ralph Norman officiating. There will be no visitation. Born on March 31st, 1950, in Marshalltown, she was the daughter of William Albert and M. Lorraine (Adams) Tjarks. She graduated from the Conrad-Beaman High School in 1969. Having a desire for learning, she enrolled at MCC in the early 1990’s and graduated with her AA in computer science. Willie always had a strong work ethic. She was employed at Oakview in Conrad, Fisher Controls, Beeper People, PCA and MICA amongst others. In younger years, her family attended Bethel Grove Church and then the Liscomb Church of Christ. She enjoyed teaching Sunday school, watching the TV show “Emergency” and firetrucks. Left to cherish her memory are her brother, Bill, of Liscomb, her sister Kathy (Don) Jones of Keokuk and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In death, Willie rejoined her sisters Virginia (Dean) Maloney and Lori (Shorty) Peak.
