Obituary

Loucianna Freedom Sheppard, Nicknamed “Murphy” was born in October 1976 to Linda and Jim Hester in The Dalles, Oregon. Loucianna grew up with four siblings, Annette, Deanna, James “Bud”, and Saiopy. Loucianna grew up in the Hood River Valley attending Hood River High School, where she met her future husband Corey Sheppard.

Loucianna and Corey were married in December 1995, and had four beautiful children; Tristan, Samantha, Alexandria, and Cassandra. They spent many days together with their children, friends and family bbq in the backyard and going on driving adventures up Red Hill and Fir Mountain. They were married for nine years, and lived in Parkdale, Oregon.

Loucianna had several part-time jobs over the years; working at her family owned gas station in Pine Grove, working as a cook/server/manager at Edna’s Café in Parkdale, volunteering at the Parkdale Fire Department, and finally finding her career as a USPS Postal Carrier in Parkdale, Oregon. Loucianna loved her route as a carrier and became friends with almost everyone she met on her postal route.

Loucianna also had a desire for entrepreneur, developing her own soap making business and selling to many business clients in the Mt. Hood area. She grew her own herbs (lavender, mint, and sage) to incorporate into her soaps.

Loucianna wanted her children to know that an education and career were an important part of life, and felt that she could instill this in her children by attending college at the University of Phoenix while working full-time at her postal career.

Loucianna’s children meant the world to her, she loved to take them camping off of highway 44 (sun, rain or snow!), four wheeling with their ATV’s, spending a relaxing afternoon floating at Laurence Lake, 4x4 in their Durango, and having pizza nights with the family dog Mishka.

Loucianna was so proud of her children and the people they have become; Tristan working as a Firefighter and EMT Certified, Samantha who is embarking on a new life with her Fiancé Josiah, Alexandria who is the proud mother of baby Maceigh, and Cassandra who is attending nursing school at St. Martins University.

Loucianna loved the outdoors and dreamed of owning a home in Parkdale, she was able to live in the area for many years on a ranch home with acreage.

Loucianna was a beautiful, kind and loving person that anyone would want to call their friend. As the saying goes she would give you the shirt off her back if you needed it. Loucianna was the type of person that would be there for you night or day. Loucianna passed away in May of 2022. May she have peace, health and happiness while she watches over her family and friends.

With love, from all who knew you.
