Our beloved Frank Petolino, age 74, born in Newark, NJ and resided in Nutley for the past 25 years. Frank is survived by his wife of 54 years, Diana; daughter Michele Goitiandia and husband Michael; son Michael Petolino and wife Jackie; grandchildren Jenna Nicole and Michael Dominic Goitiandia; Nieces, Nephews and extended family – all of whom he loved dearly. He is predeceased by his parents, Mike and Millie Petolino, and recently by his sister and brother-in-law Mildred and John Ceceri, niece Danielle Ceceri and sister-in-law Juanita (Cupie) Rodriguez, and beloved friend Anthony Castelluccio.
Frank cherished his lifelong friends who have been his support system over the years, through thick and thin. He was blessed with dear friends and neighbors from every area of his life. He will live on within all of our hearts forever.
Frank proudly carried on his family’s century-old business, Petolino Florist, which he owned and operated for 48 years. He built it into a thriving business and cornerstone of the community.
Proud of his Newark roots and his Italian heritage, Frank devoted many years of service to his community. Most notably, he was a Founding member of the Forest Hill Community Association, Founding member of Special Improvement District for Mt. Prospect; Chairman of the Improve Newark Program; President and Treasurer of the NJ Unit of Teleflora; member of the Columbian Foundation & Newark Unico as well as numerous other organizations.
The funeral will be Saturday, May 21, 2022, at 9:30am from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, (www.swbrownandson.com), 267 Centre St., Nutley.
The funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am at St. Lucy’s Roman Catholic Church, 118 7th Ave, Newark, NJ 07104.
The interment will follow at Restland Memorial Park, 77 Deforest Ave, East Hanover, NJ 07936.
Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Friday, May 20th from 3-8pm.
