Dorothy Sloan Campbell

Dorothy Sloan Campbell, 91, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, May 13, 2022, at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick after a short illness. Born in Screven, GA, to George W. and Janie Clark Sloan, Dot was a resident of St. Simons Island and Brunswick for most of her life. She retired from Sea Island Golf Club (The Lodge) after 25 years of service. She was an active member of Bible Baptist Church and a member of the American Legion. She loved gardening, reading her Bible, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a devoted and loving mother and a kind and loving friend. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 19 years, Jack D. Campbell; siblings, William Sloan, Myrle Daniels, and Evelyn Drawdy; and two great-grandchildren, Christian Strickland, and Seth Mitchell. She is survived by Kathy Ribbron Breese (Daniel) of Waynesville, Charles “Chuck” Ribbron (Patricia) of Brunswick, Vickie Ribbron of Brunswick, Cindy Ribbron Mitchell (Eddie) of Brunswick, and Betty Ribbron Coker of Brunswick; twelve grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-children; siblings, Mickey Drawdy (Harris), Reba Reyna (Warren), Nita Rose, and D.L. Sloan; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will begin at 10 am, Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at Bible Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 11 am with Rev. Darrell Joiner and Rev. Mike Landrum officiating. Burial will be in Chapel Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Hunter Breese, Daniel Breese, Jr., Daniel Breese, III, Charles Ribbron, Jr., and Tyler Mitchell.
