James Buford Ivy

Mr. James Buford Ivy, 83, of Albany, peacefully passed away on Monday, May 16, 2022, at Willson Hospice House. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at Hall and Hall Funeral home with a graveside to follow at 2:00 p.m. in Floral Memory Gardens. Born October 31, 1938, in Mississippi, Mr. Ivy was the son of the late Hunter and Verna Ivy. He proudly served our country in the United States Marine Corps where he retired after many years of faithful and honorable service and later worked as a truck driver. He loved watching westerns, spending time with family, being outdoors, and had a special place in his heart for his dogs Kato and Tank. A loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather he will be greatly missed by all. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Ivy; stepson, Mike Prince; siblings, Hunter Ivy Jr., Wilburn "Will" Ivy, Billy Ivy, and Ruby Williams. Survivors include his daughter, Debbie Ferguson and David of Albany; stepdaughter, Darlene Rouse and David of Albany; grandchildren, Shannon Merritt (Daniel) of Sumner, Tonya Rouse of Leesburg, Steven Rouse (Amanda) of Albany, Kimberly Prince and Rebekah Greene both of North Carolina; great grandchildren, Dalton, Hayden, Brady, Noah, Maddox, Ava, Charlee Ann; and a host of extended family and friends.
