Thomas George Krengel, 71, Altoona, Iowa died at his residence at Altoona Nursing & Rehab. He was born September 11, 1950 to George& Vera (Wallner) Krengel in Springfield, Illinois.

Tom had a landscaping architectural degree from Iowa State University. Over the years he plied his trade in Iowa and California.

Survivors include daughters, Kayla Ginther and husband Shane, Alyssa Britton, and son, David Britton, brother, John Krengel and wife Janet, sister, Barb Fremder and husband David, sister in law Emily Krengel, grandchildren, Kasen, Kaden, Chris, Haylie, Kaitlin, Noel, 4 great grandchildren, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, George & Vera, as well as brother, Mark.

Tom loved to play and watch golf. He followed the Chicago Bears and the ISU Cyclones.

Favorite times were spent at family gatherings, cookouts, and going out to eat. Tom had a great sense of humor especially telling dad jokes. He was grateful for the acts of kindness from friends and family in his time of need. Humble and appreciative with his family.
