Rosalie Braasch, 83, of Romeoville, IL passed away peacefully on May 11, 2022, with family at her side after battling years of chronic disease. Rosalie was born on May 21, 1938 in Joliet, IL to Michael and Pauline Zolecki. She grew up in Lemont, IL surrounded by family and friends. She met Robert Braasch in 1954 and they were married the following year. In 1958 they moved to Romeoville where she lived until passing. Rosalie completed her hair stylist certification and worked as a stylist for over 40 years and always kept her family and home as her top priority. Rosalie was a devoted and loving wife to Robert for 66 years. Beloved mother of four children: Robert Jr. (Rebecca, nee Homerding), Barbara (Steven) McCammond, Charles (Christine nee Tapia), and Michael; cherished, fun-loving grandmother of Kevin Braasch (Grecia nee Plasencia Acosta), Jenna Braasch, Taylor Braasch, and Ryan Braasch; treasured great-grandmother of Ivan Alex Braasch, and loving godmother of Jeanine (Twardzik) Ehrenberger. Rosalie is also survived by her loving sisters Esther Jungles, and twin Shirley Twardzik; her sister-in-law Lois Zolecki, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Rosalie loved birds and animals, especially her four furry-grandbabies Sami, Cinch, Ren and Jin. In her earlier years, Rosalie was an avid bowler. She was a big fan of the Chicago Cubs and collected bird figurines. Rosalie treasured all her Lemont “Club Girls” who remained close friends for more than 60 years. Rosalie said that the love and fun they shared over the years was a blessing. She was preceded in death by her parents Michael and Pauline, nee Witczak; brothers Andy (Clara) Zolecki, Leonard (Gladys) Zolecki, Harry Zolecki; brother- in-laws Ignatius (Iggy) Twardzik and Harry Jungles; and goddaughter Bonnie (Jungles) Posey. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 from 4p-7p at Anderson Memorial Chapel, 606 Townhall Drive, Romeoville, IL 60446. Funeral Thursday May 19, 2022 9:45 am from the funeral home chapel to St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church for a 10 am Mass of Christian Burial. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Romeoville, IL.
