George Allen Moser Obituary

On Monday, May 16th, 2022, George Allen Moser III passed away at the age of 67 in Dawsonville, GA. George was born on August 5th, 1954 in Norfolk, VA to George and Billie Moser. He received his journalism degree from the University of Georgia in 1976. He married Susan Margaret Komar in May of 1981, and they raised two sons Joseph Allen and Alexander Bernard.

George had a passion for all things family, friends, and football. He enjoyed spending time on his boat with Sue and weekends by the lake with his friends and family. However, nothing could keep him away from his television on Sunday to watch his beloved Green Bay Packers. He channeled his love for football into his coaching at Dawson County High School, for which he was grateful to spend the last 17 years on the sidelines motivating his players.

Although he often traveled for work, he always made time for his sons and never missed a single game of theirs. He was not only a loving father, but a true best friend to Joe and Alex. As the boys got older, they enjoyed playing golf and reminiscing as they listened to George’s unforgettable stories.

George’s newest and unexpected love came after his first grandchild Elizabeth Grace was born in 2018. He quickly found himself playing dolls and dress-up but couldn’t be happier. This was only magnified by the addition of his grandson Austin James in 2020.

Sue and George were married for 41 years and always enjoyed doing everything together as a family. Since moving to the lake, they realized their passion for boating and being outdoors. Their love only grew stronger when he was diagnosed with stomach cancer last year, and Sue immediately took on the job of full time caregiver.

George was preceded in death by his father, George, and his mother Billie. He is survived by his wife Susan, his two sons Joe and Alex, his sister Monica, and his grandchildren Elle and Austin.

A celebration of life will be held Thursday May 19th, 2022 at 11 o’clock a.m. at the Browns Bridge Church located at 3860 Browns Bridge Rd in Cumming, GA. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Dawson County High School Football Program in Dawsonville, GA.
